Quacky Quacky Duck Tour

Finally we went to Duck Tour on Tuesday..! This week Ben is on leave so we decided that we should planned more family outing & program this week.. So Benson will not be going to school for this week... Oops.. Yes I know some parents might think that is not a good idea.. But I think is fine because since Benson had not really start going to those serious studying stage yet, we think is fine to cut some slack... So back to Duck Tour..

We are very excited.. We took train to Suntec & thinking to catch 6pm ride.. Ben rushed to the counter to buy ticket while I push Benson in his stroller slowly walk there =)... Beginning the staff told Ben that 6pm is fully taken without even asking him how many pax we buying for.. & told him to go to Flyers instead to buy ticket.. Ben told the staff is impossible to reach there in time because is already nearly 5.30pm.. Another staff ask how many pax we had.. after telling them they say since is only 2 adult & 1 child.. They told him is available.. =.= My point is.. Why the staff didn't even check how many pax we are buying & tell Ben straight saying that is sold out.. ? But anyway luckily we manage to get our ticket... There is 30% for Singaporean.. Because Benson below 3 years old so we only need to pay $2 for him.


Went to the waiting area & listened to safety briefing.. The duck tour begin soon after we seated down.. Weather is very humid.. luckily we took the 6pm ride if not I'm sure we will all be cooked.. haha.. Manage to catch sunset.. =) Took quite a few nice pictures.. But was kind of disappointed that the tour guide didn't even interact with anyone on board.. Is only the ear puck with the pre recorded intro & some of the intro is irrelevant.. Kinda disappointed because almost 70% of the post I read all sound so good & worth the ride... But seriously I think is kinda waste of money.. If there is no interaction to make the ride exciting, might as well I walk to those attraction by foot.. But anyway.. Benson enjoyed his ride & was amazed by the duck ride when the vehicle start to splash into the river... & His fav toy now is the duck whistle..

After all is a good experience for Benson... But if given another chance.. we won't choose this ride ever again...

Benson is very into bowling nowadays.. Since last Friday we bring him to Compass Point arcade.. He has been looking forward to another trip there.. So we bring him on Friday this week.. Because " Friday " they having promotion. Buy $20 get $10 free.. Quite worth it.. I know alot of parents doesn't allow kids to play or even enter the arcade because they feel that is a bad addiction & influence.. But I don't think that way.. Because certain game is good for their brain & motor skill too.. Like bowling & basketball is Benson's fav game.. He enjoyed a lot.. =) just that we don't bring him too often like 2 times a week or everyday.. I feel is fine.. Once a week should be quite healthy.. ^^

Fire Station Open House

Read a few mummies blog & came to know that most Fire Station has open house on Saturday morning.. Since Benson love Fire Engine so much we decided to let him explore more in this open house..

I go thru their website & happy to know that " Sengkang Fire Station " has open house.. We choose Sengkang because we thought of going swimming after visiting the station.. If not we would have go to central one.. But lots of feedback saying that central Fire Station is super crowed.. So I'm glad that I had made the choice to visit the Sengkang Fire Station..

 



Once reached the station you will need to give one IC for register.. & get ur visitor pass.. Benson is given one fireman hat.. Then 2 officers show us around & explain all about their Fire Truck, there is 4 generation.. The oldest one u can only see it in the Central Fire Station which is located at Hill St.. Today We only get to see 3 generation.. They explained in details of all the equipment that is in the Fire Truck .. We were amazed by lots of powerful equipment & hose that they used to put out fire, for accident cases & many other kind of cases.. we didn't know that Fire Engine actually has so many equipment in truck such as, drilling, cutting, chemical, different sizes of fire hose & many other device.. they use different vehicle for different cases.. There is those motorbike type , super big Fire Truck, smaller one which is the latest, Fire truck with huge & long ladder can reach up to 8 floor & Red Rino

They showed us how they hold & operate their hose, after the demo, Ben & Benson get to try it too =) after that we went into their office to know how their operation is like inside the office.. They showed us maps for Singapore & there is marking on which road is the fastest to get to the scene.. & which area has most risk..

Before the session ends.. We get to see the slide down poll.. Is 3 story high.. They showed us the position used for them to slide down & amazingly Singapore had their own unique style.. If I didn't heard wrong Singapore style is invented in 1970s..

We had a great 1hrs fun in the station..& we are really thankful to those professional officer who had guide us today.. They are very friendly , helpful & explained all the things in details.. We had learn quite a lot today..
