Guest Post ~ Chrystal's Slimming Journey

Today Chrystal is here to share with us about her " Slimming Journey "
I'm sure her story will inspired many of us to go on a healthy diet

Chrystal is a mother of 3 kids and believes in working towards her goal of "work less; earn more." Besides blogging about her parenting journey with her toddler and twins, she also hopes to inspire other moms to embrace their post-pregnancy body by leading a healthier life through a good diet and exercise. You can read more from her about parenting, weight   loss and working from home at Mother Of Kids

Chrystal's Story :

Having gained less than 10kg during my first single pregnancy and about 20kg when I was expecting twins, my weight gain was considered healthy. Nonetheless, it was still very hard to lose the pregnancy weight. I was able to drop most of my pregnancy weight by the end of my daughter’s first month and was quickly back to my pre-pregnancy weight. However, wanting to healthily drop all the 20kg from my twin pregnancy in less than 6 months was definitely very tough.

Despite breastfeeding twins, I did not lose as much calories. As I needed sufficient energy to produce milk for my twins, I found myself eating more than my usual portions. I didn’t gain more weight, but the extra fats on me didn’t feel good at all. My tummy still looked like I was 5 months pregnant!

I then decided that I don’t want to look this way anymore. I wanted to look good and feel good about myself, and obviously I wasn’t too pleased at how I looked.

The problem was that, being a stay at home mom of 3 meant that it was hard for me to make time to visit the gym or even go downstairs for a run. After a quick search online, I found an online game made for the Playstation 3, which I already had at home.

Within 3 months of regularly doing “EA Sports Active 2,” I dropped 3kg! I was so happy and my tummy not only reduced, it started to tone up!

It’s been a year since I’ve started exercising. I’ve also altered my diet to low carbs, high protein. This not only helped me in losing more weight, but also regulated my bowel movements, a problem I have since my teens.

As of today I’m still 3kg away from my goal, but I’ve noticed my body stronger and in a better shape than before. I really hope to keep this up, and am also planning to take up dance fitness classes such as Zumba.

When it comes to dropping pregnancy weight, I feel that moms shouldn’t expect themselves to be as slim as before. Rather, we have a new body to embrace, and in the midst of dropping off the extra weight, we should also want to do it for the sake of living a healthier life for our children!
